Rhythmic Relations 2023

TAIKOPROJECT brings its annual home concert to Malibu for the first time in Summer 2023! American taiko pioneers Russel Baba and Jeanne Mercer, and virtuoso Sumie Kaneko join the ensemble in a mix of traditional and modern interpretations of taiko music for one night only. Along with the ensemble’s array of enormous taiko drums, instruments featured include the koto, shamisen, saxophone, vocals, marimba, and shinobue (bamboo flute).
